Emir Yılmaz’s home

The Project Story

This home belongs to Emir Yılmaz, and the main goal of the project was to upgrade the rear of the property with a cleaner, brighter and more contemporary feel — achieved largely through a carefully planned package of new doors and windows. The existing openings were dated and limited in both light and performance, which made the kitchen area feel darker and more enclosed than it needed to be. Emir wanted a modern look that would suit a London home but also deliver real everyday benefits such as improved comfort, insulation and a stronger connection to the garden.

What We Had to Solve

The original doors and windows didn’t provide enough natural daylight, and the frames and proportions made the space feel visually heavier. In a typical London setting, where light can be inconsistent throughout the year, this became even more noticeable. The rear of the home also lacked a clear connection to the outside, meaning the kitchen area felt separated from the garden rather than flowing into it. Emir wanted a solution that would feel modern and minimal but still practical and secure, with glazing that performs well in day-to-day British weather conditions.

How We Delivered

To achieve the transformation, we introduced a new set of large glazed openings to maximise daylight and create a brighter, more open atmosphere. The new windows were designed with a contemporary finish and slimmer, cleaner sightlines, helping the space feel more refined without being overly sharp or industrial. For the rear access, we installed modern glazed doors that create a smooth transition between the kitchen and garden, making the outside feel like a natural extension of the interior. Alongside the visual improvement, the new glazing specification was chosen to support better thermal performance, reduce draughts and improve overall comfort — a key priority for any London home.

The Final Result

The final outcome is a noticeable change in how the home looks and feels. With the updated doors and windows in place, Emir Yılmaz’s kitchen space is now significantly brighter, more modern, and far more connected to the garden. The new glazing brings in natural light throughout the day, while the upgraded frames and fittings deliver a cleaner finish, stronger performance and improved practicality. The result is a door-and-window upgrade that doesn’t just modernise the appearance of the property but genuinely enhances the way the space is used and enjoyed every day.
