Ann’s home

The Project Story

For Ann’s home in Camden Town, London, the aim was to create a bright, modern kitchen and dining extension that feels naturally connected to the garden. The design focused on using the right combination of glazing, doors and rooflight features to bring in maximum daylight while keeping the look clean and contemporary.

What We Had to Solve

The existing rear space felt darker than it should and didn’t open properly onto the garden. Ann wanted a solution that would improve natural light, make the room feel larger, and suit the character of a London brick home — without heavy frames or a bulky, dated finish. Thermal performance and security were also important, so the new doors and windows needed to be practical for everyday living in the UK.

How We Delivered

We installed three aluminium bi-folding doors in a dark anthracite/charcoal grey finish, using slim frames and double glazing to maximise light and improve insulation. To brighten the extension further, we added a sky lantern and a clean rooflight detail, helping daylight spread across the exposed brickwork and into the centre of the room. A matching arched aluminium window completed the look, adding a distinctive feature while keeping the overall design minimal and modern.

The Final Result

The completed space feels lighter, more open and far more connected to the garden. The combination of the bi-fold doors, arched window and sky lantern roof glazing gives Ann a bright kitchen–dining area with a modern finish that still sits beautifully within its Camden Town setting — practical, secure, and designed to be enjoyed every day.
