James and Sarah’s home

The Project Story

For James and Sarah’s home in London, the focus was on bringing more daylight into the living spaces and creating a smoother connection between indoors and the garden. The existing openings didn’t make the most of the available light, so the goal was to introduce modern glazing that would feel clean, practical and well suited to everyday family life.

What We Had to Solve

The main challenge was improving brightness without losing comfort. Like many London homes, some areas of the property felt shaded throughout the day, and the clients wanted a lighter atmosphere with better ventilation and a clearer view out. It was also important that the new doors and windows felt secure, performed well through changing weather, and matched the home’s interior style without looking too heavy or bulky.

How We Delivered

We upgraded the glazing with modern, slim-profile window frames in a dark anthracite grey finish, chosen to create a crisp contrast against the lighter interior surfaces. To open the rear of the home to the garden, we installed a bi-fold door system, allowing the space to transform easily from a cosy living area into an open, indoor–outdoor setting during warmer months. The glazing was specified with high-performance double glazing to improve insulation, reduce draughts and help maintain a comfortable temperature throughout the year. A rooflight above also supports the daylight strategy, bringing natural light deeper into the space and enhancing the bright, airy feel.

The Final Result

With the new doors and windows in place, James and Sarah’s home feels noticeably brighter, more open and far more connected to the garden. The bi-fold doors provide flexibility for entertaining and everyday living, while the updated window package adds a modern finish and improved performance. Overall, the glazing upgrade delivers a clean, contemporary look with the comfort, security and practicality expected in a London home.
